The Mexican bathroom floor. Never carpet. Mexican saltillo tile or a glazed Mexican tile will give you the most authentic Mexican bathroom floor. Use a Mexican talavera pottery sink or buy a cobalt blue, sunflower yellow, aqua or red sink. Use bright solid or patterned Mexican tile on you vanity top. Or just waterproof the wood with a sealer. If you don't change your vanity, sink or countertop paint the cabinet base either solid or with a dry brush technique in a bold color.

Your Mexican style bathroom mirror can be framed in iron, shinny shaped tin or copper. A heavily carved frame can work and can be painted. There are also the shinny tin framed mirrors with the Mexican tiles inset.

If you use the chandelier, scrolly wrought iron sconces to hold pillar candles are totally Mexican style. Put a dimmer on the lights for those relaxing soaking baths.

Western Bathroom Decor Ideas

Often, the bathrooms in our homes get little or no consideration when it comes to decorating. That's too bad because there are plenty of western bathroom decor ideas that can make a big difference. After all, the bathroom is usually where we're at right before bedtime and where we spend time in the morning getting ready for the day. So, why not add a few decorative touches to remind us of something we have a fondness for?

Our favorite decor ideas for the bathroom are ones from the western, southwestern, lodge, and rustic styles of home decorating. For example, western style decor might include items related to western scenery or settings, cowboys and cowgirls, or horses, as well as rodeo and ranching activities. The Southwestern style might feature desert scenes, red rock canyons, cactus, or Native American designs. Nature and wildlife are common themes for the lodge and rustic styles.

Decor

Most of the things we use as part of our bathroom decor ideas are common items for the bathroom, but they're done in a certain decorative style. These common items include shower curtains, towel bars, robe hooks, tissue holders, soap dishes, lotion dispensers, toothbrush holders, waste cans, and so forth. There are also wallpaper borders, vanity lights, switch covers, along with cabinet pulls and knobs that are done in your favorite decorating style.

Western Bathroom Decor Ideas

If your home has more than one bathroom, you might have one for the master bedroom, one (or more) for the other bedrooms, and perhaps a guest bathroom or powder room. If that's the case, you might want to use one of the best bathroom decor ideas we know of - simply get a few items that reflect the hobbies and/or interests of the person(s) that uses each of the bathrooms the most. Then, decorate the guest bathroom or powder room to match or complement the rest of your home.

If you're a horse lover, you'll be able to find a wide variety of shower curtains with a horse theme. You can choose all kinds of scenes, from a horse grazing in a lush meadow to a group of wild mustangs running freely across the open range. You can easily find other bathroom accessories and accents that feature a design or depiction of a horse.

Are you a cowboy or cowgirl at heart? You can get a toothbrush holder, lotion dispenser, soap dish, and more, all with a matching design that features a depiction of a western character. Towel bars are available that make it seem like a pair of cowboys are holding a rope for you to drape your towel over. Some types of western light fixtures have a cowboy silhouette in metal art.

Perhaps you have a deep appreciation for nature and wildlife. You can express your feelings with rustic style bathroom accessories and accents that bring a touch of the outdoors into your room. Whether it's plant or animal, you'll have lots of choices. You can get decor items with designs or depictions of acorns, pine trees, pinecones, elk, deer, moose, bears, ducks, geese, or trout.

No matter which bathroom decor ideas have the most appeal for you, the best part is that getting a desired look or creating a theme is easily accomplished without spending lots of money. Most of the accessories and accents for the bathroom are affordable and have a very practical purpose, so why not get them in your favorite style? The difference it makes as you start your day can certainly make you glad you did!

Bathroom Decorating For A Zen Like Spa Look

Bathroom decorating can be fun and challenging but when it ends up giving you the relaxing feeling of a Zen like spa it is well worth the effort. Here are some tips on how you can get this relaxing feel in your bathroom

You should use soft colors and neutral tones colors for your Zen bathroom. Matching colors with your wall paint, towels and shower curtains is key so get paint cards that have your paint colors on them and bring them shopping with you when you buy your bathroom accessories - that way you will get a perfect match.

Decorating

In the bathroom, consider accessorizing with artwork on the walls, as well as toiletry and toothbrush holders, towel racks, towels and decorative soaps. You want to end up with a minimalist look so don't put too much in. Consider sleek designs for the hamper and wastebasket.

Bathroom Decorating For A Zen Like Spa Look

If your bathroom is big enough it could include shoji screens, plants and furniture with simple lines as well as a table water fountain and some bamboo. Window treatments for the Zen bathroom decorating theme should be simple and plain. Try updating your windows with bamboo blinds. After you get the ideal look on your windows, you might realize the walls are drab by comparison. To overcome this, try hanging watercolors or oriental silks in frames around the room.

While you may not think about it much, flooring plays a vital role in your interior design style so putting in bath mats to compliment your Zen decorating theme can really improve it's style. Bathroom Designs

Deciding on the right bathroom tile design for your home will not be a simple matter when you start your remodeling project; deciding on a style however, is easier said than done but there is not point redecorating until the choice has been made. There are a variety of designs and options available that appeal to a number of differing tastes as well as range of budgets. The most popular styles; the harlequin tile design, marble and natural stone are also traditional but the more colorful tiles are also gaining acceptance.

If you don't know what the harlequin bathroom tile looks like; imagine a white tile that has smaller black diamond shapes in a grid like pattern imprinted on them and you have the harlequin style. Sometimes these tiles are available in other colors but the traditional black and white oblong tile is the most popular and effective.

\"home Design\"

My favorite is the black and white design as the effect it has is hard to match and always improves the look of a bathroom. If you use these tiles around a clean white Victorian style bath tub on four feet with chrome fittings you can imagine how striking this looks.

Although this gives a stunning effect, chrome is renowned for leaving fingerprints so may require daily cleaning. This is something particularly relevant if you have young children, so may not be the best style for you.

But it is the classic white tile with small black squares which is my favorite which has a much cleaner look and is normally available without having to place a special order. If you have a little more to spend you may want to consider marble in your bathroom tile design and although it is expensive it will provide an unparalleled look and feel which everyone will admire.

If cost is an option then there are ways in which you can have the best of both worlds by having the main design made up of a bathroom tile that is moderately priced. It is then just a matter of finding a design that will complement what you have already chosen to create a new pattern and then it doesn't matter if the new tiles cost more as you won't be using them as much.

No matter what design you choose you probably want to consider investing in a professional for installation. Of course you will save a great deal of money if you carry out the tiling yourself. If there are problems, it will waste time and if then you have to bring in a professional, it will cost considerably more to finish your bathroom remodeling project.

Ideas For Your New Bathroom Vanity

With so many choices in design, color, and materials the cost of a new bathroom vanity can skyrocket. There are ways to achieve the same look designer's use for a fraction of the cost. In this article we will discuss how to take the simple, well built cabinet and use it as part of our decorating ideas. Think of the cabinet as the foundation of your project. With a good solid base you won't have to worry, for years, about doing this job again.

Bathroom vanities come in all shapes and sizes. They can be purchased pre-finished or ready to stain. If you have a flair for painting this is a very easy project to take on. Cabinets can be painted or stained in the garage, before installing the cabinet, where you have more space and better ventilation. There are a lot of new techniques for finishing cabinets. Visit your local home improvement store, paint department, and see what they have available. You can also purchase a pre-finished cabinet which will reduce installation time.

\"decorating Ideas\"

If you find a cabinet that you like but are not impressed with the hardware features, you can easily change them with quality, better functioning, parts. Drawer slides, hinges, and knobs are a few of these hardware items that can be changed out. Drawers take a lot of abuse with daily use and a new drawer slide can make them operate like butter. There are even self-closing slides available that do not allow the drawer to slam shut. Although there are quite a few different types of hinges, you are limited to the style of the hinge already installed on the cabinet. European style hinges typically are completely hidden from view and have a large adjustment range.

These are my favorites as they don't take away from the natural beauty of the cabinet. If your new cabinet does not have such a hinge you can still upgrade but the choices are more limited. The most important hardware feature, to show off your new bathroom vanity, may be the handles you choose. There are so many styles, textures, and designs that your imagination is the only thing limiting your decision. When shopping for new handles look for quality as a bathroom environment can tarnish a cheaply plated knob. There are several specialty stores that cater solely to this type of hardware. I would recommend visiting one of these stores to get your best ideas.
